A DOT-Approved Light Bar for Chevrolet Silverado 2500
2007-2013

Chevrolet Silverado 2500 2013

Recently, alongside the release of the Tiny Monster Concept Pods, ARC Lighting also released a new series of light bars for your 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, or 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500: The Tiny Monster Xtreme Series Bars.

The Tiny Monster Xtreme Series Light bars are street legal, single row light bars.

Don’t let the term “street legal” fool you!  The Tiny Monster Xtreme bars pack a lot of punch and are bright enough to be useful on both highway and off-road conditions.

But are the Xtreme bars worth the investment?

Who are the Tiny Monster Xtreme light bars for and who are they NOT for?

The Xtreme Series light bar are SAE Certified and DOT approved.

What are the Xtreme Series Light Bars?

The Tiny Monster Xtreme light bars maximize light output and road safety, with a unique optical design that produces a sharp, crisp beam pattern.

This optical design is exactly how the Xtreme Series bars earned their SAE Certifications and DOT approval. The DOT approval means these light bars are legal on ANY roadway in the US.

Does being DOT approved mean the Xtreme light bars are less bright than non-DOT approved light bars?

Not necessarily.  Here’s why:  It isn’t the lack of brightness that makes them street legal, it’s the focused optics that allow for precise control and cut-off of the beam so it doesn’t blind on-coming drivers.

Okay, so they’re legal and bright.  What sizes do these light bars come in?

The Xtreme Series Bar comes in three sizes: 6”, 10”, and 20”.

Now, you might think the 6” is a bit timid, but don't let its size fool you. This little guy packs a punch with its fog beam pattern outputting around 1,400 lumens. The 10” bar utilizes a driving beam pattern with 4,600 lumens. And if you're feeling extra adventurous, the 20” driving and fog combo pattern will net you 7,300 effective lumens.

The 6” model includes 2 LED light bars, mounting brackets, a wiring harness, and a switch panel, While the 10” and 20” models come with a single LED light bar, as well as the mounting brackets, wiring harness, and switch panel.

Here’s a cool feature:  All of the Xtreme Series light bars are dual function with an amber strobe light feature built in. This can come in handy when helping someone on the side of the road or using your truck for work where you need to alert oncoming traffic.

All sizes of the Xtreme bars are dual function with a built-in amber strobe light.

Durability and Water Resistance

How do the Xtreme light bars hold up to water? All Xtreme Series bars have an IP67 rating for water resistance and come with a 3-year warranty. While this is technically considered water proof, they aren’t designed for lengthy submersion. Also, while they’re good under normal car wash conditions, they’re not designed to handle extreme high powered water jets, directly shooting at them.

The Xtreme series bars are more durable than cheap online light bars and can hold up to the jarring and impact under normal and even moderate off-road conditions.

The Xtreme Series bars range from 1,400 to 7,300 lumens.

Who are the Xtreme Series Bars for?

The Xtreme Series Bars can be a great choice for anyone looking for some extra lighting that can be used legally while driving on or off road.  If you’re on a budget and want a quality, all around, multi-purpose light, this fits the bill.

ARC Lighting has an excellent reputation for making quality products and standing behind them. Unlike super cheap knock-offs you can find online, these are built well, are reliable and the SAE certifications, lumens and water resistant ratings are legit.

Who are the Xtreme Series Bars not for?

We wouldn’t recommend the Xtreme Series Bars for heavy off-roaders who require their lights to be submersible for lengthy periods of time or stand up to extreme impact.

While they are IP67 rated (making them “waterproof” to most conditions) they can’t withstand being fully submerged in water for long periods of time.

These lights also lack an impact rating, meaning they’re not guaranteed to stand up to situations such as being hit with large flying rocks and similar circumstances. They’re also not the best option for the person who wants the cheapest disposable lights possible, with no concern for quality.

However, at a retail price of around $250.00 - $350.00 depending on the size, they offer a nice combination of brightness and reliability at a reasonable price.
